Martin J. Lawler is a CA immigration law specialist with more than 32 years experience. He is listed in the Best Lawyers in America. He is the author of Professionals: A Matter of Degree, a treatise on business visas. This book, now in its fifth edition, is a leading text on business and professional visas. Professionals (4th ed.) was chosen by the San Francisco Law Library as its book of the month. Martin has also authored many book chapters and articles including a chapter in a book on EB-5 investor green cards (published in August 2010). The Wall Street Journal published two op-ed articles by Martin. Martin regularly lecturers on investor visas including EB-5 (permits people to immigrate to the U.S. upon making an investment). Martin has lectured on various visa matters at Harvard, Stanford, Tulane, San Jose State, University of San Francisco, SF State University, AZ State University, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Annual and other conferences, the American Law Institute, and the San Francisco Bar Association. Martin also held a webinar for the American Chemical Society on visas for chemists. He has chaired AILA's H-1B visa committee. Martin is the 1996 recipient of the AILA Jack Wasserman Memorial Award for excellence in immigration litigation. He has also received a number of AILA presidential awards. He is Martindale-Hubbell A rated. Martin is in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, listed in San Francisco Magazine’s Super Lawyer and is one of only half a dozen lawyers on Collier’s List of CA Immigration Lawyers.
